love this unit! It was easy to set up and we used it for an entire season. Well, worth the money. Our home has central air, but our bedroom seems to stay warmer than we like for sleeping. It is quiet and I love the remote that we can turn it on and off from our bed! The only issue I have is the temperature reading on the unit isn¡®t always accurate.

Seems great and I didn’t have any issues with it otherwise. It’s easy to move around on account of the wheels which is very nice

Not good at all. Exhaust piece doesn’t fit properly in window, so leaves gaps of air. Doesn’t blow cold sometimes, randomly shuts off. Very noisy despite not producing much cold air. Would not recommend

I live in the soupy hellish heat of Florida humidity. Several years ago, I bought a high end model portable AC for over $500. It worked great the first year, then steadily became noisier and spat water. The inside was getting rusty from the condensation. I had it repaired, but that problem never quite resolved. From the beginning, the hoses were not secured to the machine very well, and it did not come with any kind of drainage hoses. I had to tape them on at both ends to keep them in place. There’s no way to clean the inside without disassembling it. Even though it’s supposedly a quality product, it was too heavy, too loud and hard to assemble. This year, I went to turn it on after sitting over the winter and it sounded like a lawnmower. It didn’t get cold. I spent over a week sitting in 80+ heat in my house with just fans to cool me. I was suffering from heat stroke and waking up covered in sweat, because I just didn’t have the money to spend on another $500 unit and window boxes just aren’t allowed. The only portables available at the stores near me are $400 or more. I didn’t have the money to spend that much, but I hesitated on buying this $200 generic one, because I didn’t want to end up with a lemon I can’t return. It’s the only affordable one I could find, though, so I decided to just risk it. If this unit only lasts the summer, it’s still worth it to me. It was delivered in about 4 days, and I immediately broke into the box to assemble it. One thing I noticed, it’s much lighter. The old AC weighed three times as much, but I didn’t feel strained carrying the entire box. It came with a window slide panel, the exhaust hose, hose connectors, remote and the drainage hose. The hose screws into both ends of the connectors a lot more securely than the expensive model’s did. On this generic model, they fit very tightly and don’t move. It’s better to put these parts together first, because once it’s attached to the unit, you can’t turn it easily. My window is a standard 36 inches wide, but the window panel didn’t quite fit in the grooves, so I have foam there. Because of that, there was overlap and I would have had to cut it. I didn’t have any tools to do that, so I just flipped the extender around so that the gap was on the inside. That prevents me from using the screws that hold it in place, but I just ended up duct taping it. I fit the exhaust end of the hose into it and it snapped in place. If I have one complaint, it’s that there’s nothing blocking the hose exit from being accessed from outside by bugs and critters. I will probably fit it with some mosquito netting later to prevent anything from crawling in. Just the fit of the parts and the drainage hose being included was already an improvement on the last one. I had everything plugged in, read the manual for the settings and turned it on. The room was a sauna already and just doing the window assembly had me dripping with sweat, but after just two minutes of having it on, I was already impressed. It took about twenty minutes for the temperature to go from upper 80’s to below 70, but I was already cooler just having the airflow. I can barely hear this unit running. I will come back to report on how well it’s holding up, but honestly, even if it breaks in a year, I’m not going to be upset. Going from almost 90 degrees to 60 in a few hours, I was able to turn off my fans the next morning, I can sleep comfortably, and I’m completely happy. Just a note for those who complain it doesn’t cool properly: If the hose has any holes or isn’t screwed in tightly, you are essentially dumping burning hot air into the room faster than the machine can cool it. I had this issue with the portable, where it was running full blast and it just got even more hot in the room. I ended up duct taping the hose at both ends to prevent leaks and wrapping the hose in cellophane and tape. There’s probably easier, less ugly methods, but I’m cheap and don’t care how it looks. If the seal around the window panel isn’t great, you need to get foam strips for lining the edges ($10 or less) or use tape to close the gaps. My dollar store sells silver folding car sun shades, and I cut one into panels and used it with insulating tape to cover the gaps. Once there’s no way for the heat to leak back into the house, it should function much better. Secondly, make sure you are cleaning the filters and that the hose is able to drain properly, either into a container, or outside through the panel. If any of these issues aren’t addressed, the machine can’t function normally.

Got this for a glamping trip in our Skoolie. Hooked it up to the bus window with the hose. Was cold air for about 10 minutes, then goes warm, then cold, etc. Won’t even cool our 250 sq. ft. bus!! AND we are on a trip in Savannah, Georgia with 95 degree heat and 100% humidity. TOTALLY SUCKS!!

Super loud motor. My Apple Watch warned me of the decibels in my room being too high. Sleep mode doesn’t even work to make it quieter and it doesn’t cool. Get a different unit.

Been using this AC unit for about 6 months now since a smaller unit died. Keeps the room around 72 with ease. We did some creative venting by purchasing an extension and insulated cover to go under a bathroom sink and to the window. Insulated cover keeps it from heating up the bathroom.
