It says 9300 BTUs in the pic of the energy guide, but it advertises as 14000 BTUs on the page. Which is right?
These are values obtained under the two test standards(ASHRAE 14000 BTUs / DOE SACC 9300 BTUs), so both are true. For this product, the cooling capacity of 14000 BTUs is more representative and traditional. Yes, that’s what people often say.

Do I have to install the exhaust pipe?
It depends on what you want it to do. In terms of dehumidification and cooling, yes you need to install an exhaust pipe to put out hot air and moisture.

And the pipe size?
5.9” in diameter, and 59” long.

Need to drain manually?
Most time you don’t need to, thanks to the self-evaporating tech. But for the high humidity, sometimes you need to drain manually. The product will shut off automatically and remind you when the water tank is full.

Excellent value for the money. Kept us cool at the end of last summer and has come in handy here lately also. 8000 BTUs is more powerful than the 5000 we had previous and seems to be a good quality product.

I bought 3 of these at one time, and am well pleased with them. They all do a good job. I did have two that leaked water. I knew that was a possibility, but after the first one did it, I placed the drainage hoses into a jug and pretty bowls. I have my air conditioners all up on tables so the drainage tubes can drain out easily. This doesn’t make them portable, but they do work well to keep the rooms cool. The noise level doesn’t bother me during the day, but at night, it takes a few nights to get used to when they cycle on. The remote control is convenient. The plastic casements for the windows, didn’t fit our size window’s frame, but we took substitution measures using styrofoam. The hose vent is very light, pliable, and easily attaches and installs. Pay attention to room size, they are designed for bedrooms, not open floor plan areas.

Arrived on time, seems to be working as expected, the only thing that was an issue was the size of the window attachment if you have a longer vertical sliding window youâll need to buy an additional window slide attachment thing. Iâll see if this still works by next summer and keeep yâall posted.

Bought this in June, stopped working the beginning of September. Worked fine then all of a sudden it blew the outlet… put it another outlet… it blew it a day later. Do your research… dont know if it has a manufacturer warranty.

Arrived in generaly good condition. Slight denting on condenser coil, probably due to poor packageing for something of that weight. One of the knobs was gnarled a good bit thought. Overall puts out cold so far.

Pretty solid unit. Wheels are tough to roll and it’s pretty heavy so it’s not overly portable but works great once it’s setup. Side note – windows where this is made must big bigger so be prepared to have to cut down the window trap.

I can’t really get the exhaust hose set up/secured or fit to the window so I haven’t had the chance to use the ac yet. It’s just really bulky. I attach one end and the other comes loose. Taping it didn’t help either. Also the window fitting was cracked (it’s just plastic) but surprisingly I don’t think this is a big issue. I feel the ac will be fine and easy to use if I can fix this issue. I turned the ac on for like a minute. It is rather loud. Being that it’s the size of a small child I’m not surprised by that. It would probably be too loud to sleep with but otherwise could be ignored. Came with a remote (no batteries included) but you can use the buttons on the system. I’ll update this review if I can solve this issue.

We actually got this very ac as a gift. My window unit is less BTU than this unit and it cools a million times better. This unit barely cools my bedroom with the door closed. I’m lying in bed sweating as I type this. I do not recommend this product.

This unit has to be drained constantly. The drain holes are at the very bottom on the back and the unit is heavy so unless your putting it on some sort of platform where you can easily pull the plug to drain it without getting water all over your floors you do NOT want this. Especially damaging if you have hard wood floors or laminate that can be easily ruined by water. The unit is not quiet. It is the same as any other AC. Also, I would be shocked if this would cool a 750 square foot room. It takes the edge off the mugginess but it doesn¡®t really ââ¬Åcoolââ?anything. Honestly if this unit was not so heavy and I hadn¡®t destroyed the box. I would return it. The only two positives is it looks okay and it has wheels so moves fairly easy on smooth floors.

I feel like AC units are really hit and miss. I had my doubts when ordering this unit since it was a random name brand. Upon receiving it, yes, the unit is VERY heavy and the exhaust tube is maybe a little too rigid, but other than those things, the unit works pretty good for the price since I was able to get it on a flash sale so I’m not going to complain. It manages to keep my tiny little 500 sq ft place tolerable during very hot days but I can’t completely blame the unit because the place I live in has literally no insulation so no matter what AC unit I buy, it will always be a battle on super hot days

Have no complaints about this AC unit. It wheels around well, but the exhaust flex tubing is very rigid; but you can reshape it if you have to relocate the unit. I have it in my work area in my garage, I stay cool in my work area but it doesn’t affect the rest of the garage. Overall the controls and remote are great.

This product is worthless! Had it only a few months and the tray leaks, it overheats/freezes up, you have to tip it to drain all the water out. If you don¡®t it doesn¡®t drain!!!

Not as good as a window unit. I had a 12000 window unit that worked better. I also ran 2 5000 window units at once that worked better than this unit. The window kit doesn¡®t work right. Way too large for my windows and they are pretty big. The unit also gets a water condensation on it and that is inside the house. The hose gets very warm too. It is not quiet.

Works good in my Florida room that has a flat roof with all windows with morning sun. This room would get 3 to 4 deg.wormer than the rest of th house. the Florida room is 12Ft. by 25Ft. I bought this as a supplement unit to help our main AC unit and it bringa it down in about 15 Min. The statement obout not needing a drain hose. If you are using this unit to dehumidify your room or house , you will need to empty the pan or hook up a drein hose The ststement that this unit doesn’t need a drain

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Great price. This is the second one of these portable AC units I have purchased. They’re basically a no name brand made in China. They have been working very well so far. I placed this one downstairs on the kitchen counter so it could reach the window which is placed up high. The hose is long enough to reach most windows when placed on the floor however. Well made and keeping my small kitchen and attached living room cool so far.

The unit does not come with a vent cover. Therefore, rain, dirt, bugs etc can get into the hose and eventually the unit. Contacted customer service to see if they made a cover for the vent. Spoke with a rep by phone first. It was obvious she did not know what I was asking for. I gave the rep the information she requested. Apparently, it was not enough and I was emailed a day later by another one asking for more information. I sent this information too including pictures. Two days later, I received another email asking for more information. I gave up. Very frustrating. I have not used the unit yet due to continued construction where it will be placed. After the experience with customer service, I am concerned it will not work. If customer service does not know the product, it is probably not worth it. Buy with caution.

This portable AC came with no directions, no remote and no screws. The video shown in the listing shows a completely different AC unit. The external exhaust port doesn¡®t fit our window and there is no screws holding it in so my toddlers will probably knock it out. It is also dripping water out the bottom. I would return it if I could but the box was completely destroyed so I have no way to return it.

I am very happy that I decided on this air conditioner! Cools the room down quickly and runs very quiet. I use this primarily in my bedroom because I keep my bedroom door closed to keep my cat out, and it will cool it from 90 degrees to 66 in about 10-20 minutes (that is my best guess)The fact that it is drainage free is another reason why I chose it. I like the Dry setting for times that are more humid- it will dehumidify the air. The only other feature I would like for it to have would be WiFi so I could control it with my phone or set a schedule for it to run, but since it is only used in the bedroom, it is not really necessary. The size of this would easily cool 1/2 of my house, which is approximately 1600 square feet.

We have two dogs, and this AC is a lifesaver during summer. It tackles the humidity that makes their fur smell, and the air feels crisp without blowing allergens around. The washable filter is a smart touchâI just rinse it weekly, and it stays clean. The window kit works perfectly with our sliding door, and the wheels let us slide it into any room. I’ve owned this unit for less than 1 year. I bought and used it at the end of July through the beginning of October. Where it worked fine, a little rattle and noise in the machine, but when I looked it up. It said it is normal for it. No worries. So I turned it off for the winter. November to now (April 18) I haven’t used it. It is still pretty much brand new. I turn it on and it doesn’t blow cold air, it’s SUPER noisy. It is clean, air filters clean. DO NOT BUY THIS. After a few months of usage it doesn’t blow cold air any more. It is 80 outside and I have had it on at 62 for 10 hours and it is still 80 in my room. My room is less than 250 square ft. The air is pretty much room temperature and yes I do have it on cool mode.

I had my air conditioner for less than a year and the coils kept freezing over after the first month and wouldn¡®t cool the house. Now, when I turn it on the compressor doesn¡®t come on. I go with a different product until they get these things resolved.

I have another brand of room AC like this one in my bedroom which is about 200 sq ft and it freezes me, even in the Texas heat in August. I purchased this one in hopes of assisting my central AC in my living, kitchen, dining area of approximately 750 sq ft, flat ceiling with drop ceiling in kitchen. It would cool if the outdoor temperature was 75 degrees, but it wouldn’t cool the area, even with the central AC on if it was above 75 degrees outside. I would have the temperature set on this unit at 75 but wouldn’t maintain temperature. It didn’t seem to turn off when it finally hit temperature either. I’m fairly knowledgeable in AC and how it works, so I’m certain it is some issue with the unit. I had already returned one unit that hadn’t been opened because sent the wrong one, so I didn’t want to return another one. It does put out good cold air, but I wouldn’t say it’s going to cool anywhere near 750 sq ft. I keep my house warm, so I wasn’t expecting anything extravagant in it’s cooling. I kept it just in case the unit in my bedroom stops working because I’m confident it will cool a small area 200 sq ft or less. So take the UP TO 750 sq ft with a grain of salt, because it does cool within the up to range, just not 750 sq ft.

We are renovating a home while living in it and installing a whole new system from gas to electric. Since this past summer the temps were in the triple feels like digits, we got this bad boy. We put it in our room which is a 12×13 or a little bit bigger, and it’s kept it icy!! It’s absolutely awesome! thankfully delivered it gently and carefully which is a major plus. We did have to make adjustments for it to not leak though. We got a super sturdy tall end table and set it on top of that so we could take the clear pipe it came with and insert it into the unit and pop it out of the window so it would keep running on super humid days. The window slide piece that you attach the vent to wasn’t long enough for our window, but my husband had an extra piece of board insulation from our camper. So we put it all together and it works. We only had one or two instances where it froze up with ice, but it rained pretty hard and we didn’t think about cutting it off, so that was our fault. (Hairdryers work pretty well for that!) I love this unit and Id buy another one. ** I also thought I read something about heat on this one, just be aware that this unit is AC only. Just wanted to clarify for anyone who’s looking for both. ð¨ð¨ To pay 500 bucks and it only last a season and a half is ridiculous. Dropped two stars from 5 to 3.

The air conditioner was fine until I selected the DRY mode. Since then, the unit has to be emptied each day. I have cycled through all modes and it still is absorbing water. The room it is in has carpet and imagine my surprise when I noticed the carpet being wet because it is leaking the water that it absorbs even though I have it on the COOL mode. Additionally, out of nowhere, the side cracked and one of the screws in the bottom front is making a loud vibrating sound. The unit worked fine at first but now, it does not, which is a shame because it cools well.

Use it daily, cools the room quite fast. Hadn¡®t really used the heater part yet, but it does work, giving heat. It is 80 is, 90 is degrees, so heat is not needed.

This portable air conditioner is definitely a summer must-have. You don’t even need to read too many instructions to put it together, it’s very easy. It blows fantastic air and comes with a remote control. I love it and definitely got my money’s worth!

I purchased this at 11:55 pm. Kinda groggy. The next day I read the few reviews and tried to cancel it. I was talked into getting it delivered ( Huge mistake). The box it came in was dirty and torn up, the bottom was broken Styrofoam strapped together, it had 5 shipping labels on it. The packaging was horrible. ( Not a good start). I took it out and was appalled at the condition. The window pieces were cracked and dirty. Regardless, I set it up and turned it on. It was ice cold for 5 minutes. It started humming and warm air was coming out of it.. I took off the back and the coils were frozen and water was everywhere. I shut it off and let it melt, cleaned up the mess. Back it was going. It performed horribly! Trying to pack it up for return was an absolute nightmare! had it picked up the next day! My suggestion is, don’t put yourself through this. Spend the extra money and get a good one. It’s not worth the stress. Don’t gamble with this garbage. Be wise. The size was fine. It just doesn’t work.

Item shipped quickly. It arrived 2-5 days earlier than the original estimated delivery dates which is great! Easy to unpack and setup. The air is ice cold and compared to previous portable air conditioners Ie owned, this one isn¡®t near as loud. The price for this portable a/c is a much better deal than other brands and it works great! I highly recommend this unit from this supplier if you are in the market for a portable a/c
