My husband and I purchased this for a large second story bedroom space (approx 500 sq ft) to replace an ancient window unit that was wasteful and inefficient. I am pleased to report that this Portable Air Conditioner model CF14 seems this far to be a perfect solution to relieve us from the summer heat! It is a VERY HEAVY MACHINE, though the casters make it easy to move around, carrying to upper floors could be arduous for some… Out of the box it is an attractive, clean white machine. The included Window Kit makes for simple setup whether you have a vertical or horizontal window opening. The remote control is sufficient and simple to use.The “Instructions” are RIFE with super entertaining and hilarious Engrish phrases, for example: the title of the assembly instructions for the window kit is: THE WAY OF WINDOW KIT.All kidding aside: SUPER EASY assembly. Unboxed, up and running within 15 minutes!Very happy with my purchase!

I have one on the way but have installed a bunch of these 12,000 units. Everyone is freaking out about needing a big circuit and 10 gauge wire. It’s wrong. These things at the most, only pull about 9 amps at full speed and around 3 to 4 amps when idling along maintaining room temp. 14 gauge 15 amp circuit is more than enough. In fact, Ive wired many to the nearest available circuit with other stuff on them and never had an issue.

1. The unit came opened, and looks like someone had added straps to keep the box closed…. 2. The unit is nice, a bit small. I really like the digital temperature display on the front of the device. 3. The “window slider kit” is TRASH. Many things wrong with it. First, you have to attach the plastic hose to both ends – the end that connects to the unit and the end that connects to the window slider part. It is brutal trying to do this. The instructions offer no help except “attach” the pieces. It took me and my daughters about 20 minutes of pulling, turning, crying, slamming, and throwing things to finally wedge the hose ends into the two ends. What a stupid design. It popped out a few times, with more expletives, crying, and slamming things. 4. The “window slider kit” is also far too narrow to fit a window. See photos. The sliding plastic panels are very narrow, so when you try to insert it into the window, the bulk slider adapter doesn’t allow the window to close over the panels. It left about an inch gap! That’s TERRIBLE design. They give you a strip of weak foam and a strip of narrow foam with adhesive, but that’s poor protection from the heat and bugs are are sure to make their way through that gap. 5. The unit is loud. When the room temperature is cool enough and the unit stops cooling, it stops with a ‘thud” and then the whining fan keeps going. Not very pleasant for a bedroom. I am disabled and it’s very difficult to go through the hoops and hurdles of repacking an appliance and returning it. I stuffed the window gap with rags and used duct tape and the foam strip tape to try to seal it, and will just have to suffer through the noise. I don’t recommend this unit. I have had a number of others, and this has been by far the worst I’ve purchased.

In just over 10 minutes, this unit chilled my 360 sq ft room to a comfortable temperature. Just a heads up: don¡®t block the top vents like my daughter accidentally did, this makes the air push back out, making the unit work harder and sound louder. The built-in wheels make moving it from one room to another an effortless task. It is worth every single dollar, and I am keeping it around; I might even buy another one if our main AC ever fails in another room.

Our AC died and while we save up for a replacement HVAC system, this has been a lifesaver! Just have to clean the filters every week or so. They washable, so no big deal. The only complaint I have is that the tubing doesn¡®t really fit well in our window for the exhaust. There is a little gap underneath. Fortunately, there is a screen in the window so that the bugs don¡®t come in through there. We have windows that go up & down. They give some double-sided tape that could be used to tape up the gap but it is very difficult to get to because of a ginormous heavy sofa, etc. in the way. It is on wheels so that it is easy to move it. It is totally on me ââ?I probably should have gotten a window AC; it probably would have been easier for us to fit in our space. But, so far, this unit has been working for the past couple of months. You set the temp and amount of airflow you want. You can do a timer. There is a remote but I haven¡®t used it.

I give it 5 stars, but when using the ac, the dehumidifier works too, therefore, the water needs to be emptied too often, like every hour! Now I have the drain open so it drips into a bucket, but Iââ¬â¢ll buy a 12 inch hose so it empties better into the bucket that is on my floor. The AC now sits on an end table so I can keep the drainage plug open all the time. It works great and cools down a 400 sq. Ft. Fast. As for quietness, it does make some noise, but that noise doesn¡®t bother me. It is not super loud. All my other window ac make noise, so what is the big deal? It definitely cools you down fast and worth every penny. Quick ship.

It is surprisingly quiet while operating, which is a huge plus, and it doesn¡®t take up much space at all. On top of that, it seems to be very low maintenance, which makes it even more convenient. Overall, this unit has exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend!

So far, this portable AC has been a fantastic addition to my space. Setup was a breezeâtook just a few minutes to get it up and running. I like the different modes this air conditioner offers, which I adjust to suit different environments. I also like that the vents can swing up and down automatically, and you can lock them at a specific angle with the touch of a button. This allows me to fully enjoy the coolness.

Ordered on a Friday afternoon and it was delivered on Sunday morning. Took an hour to unbox and get it installed in a vertical window. Have it running in a 260 sq ft three season room with a glass roof and three sides with full windows. Does a great job keeping the room very comfortable during hot days. Air flow is excellent.

Ac stopped working as of august 7th lasted only one year, buyer beware. The exhaust was tricky to setup on the plastic attachments, however managed to finally get it on, then attaching to the portable a/c and window kit was simple. The plastic window kit was a bit short for my window, need another panel, however temporarily using a cardboard to block the gap. This A/C seems to blow really good maybe even better than my 6000 btu portable.

The unit has 2 fan settings, a setting that shifts the vents back and forth to distribute air in a wider area, adjustable temperature control, and can be used as a dehumidifier. I moved into a home that doesn’t have AC. I researched many portable air conditioner units, and decided on this one because of the size, power and price. It’s worked just great! I have a long narrow living room that goes into the nook and kitchen, and the AC unit cools the entire area. It was easy to set up and is fairly quiet. I haven’t noticed much condensation in the bottom tray. It arrived in perfect condition on my front porch, and it was easy to get inside.
